The Brenta is a landscape-protected waterway and forms the eastern boundary of Limena's municipal area.

Protected Waterways around Limena

North of the built-up center, the landscape-protected Naviglio Brentella branches off from the Brenta. Another protected waterway is the Scolo Porra. It originates in Taggì di Sopra at the confluence of the Rio Fosco and the Scolo Limenella, crosses Limena from west to east, and flows into the Brentella. This precise sequence makes it clear that the waterways are not merely individual landscape features: they form an interconnected system that determines geographic orientation in and around Limena.

Villa Pacchierotti occupies a particularly distinctive location. It stands in a bend of the Brenta in the Tavello district, east of the current town center. Tavello is also significant for Limena's early history: archaeological finds in this area, together with the route of the Roman Via Val Medoaci through the municipal area, confirm that the Limena community began to take shape as early as Roman times.

Villas, Oratories and Historic Buildings

Among the notable cultural landmarks are the Barchesse di Villa Fini. They were part of a monumental complex commissioned by the Venetian noble Fini family in the second half of the 17th century. After the villa was demolished toward the end of the 18th century, two large barchesse of the complex remained. The building history can therefore be read both in the surviving structures and in the transformation of the ensemble as a whole.

The Oratorio della Vergine del Rosario is attributed to the architect Alessandro Tremignon. Another architectural highlight is Villa Savonarola Trieste, with a garden designed by the neoclassical architect Giuseppe Jappelli. Both references broaden the perspective beyond the waterways to include the site's prestigious architectural and garden history.

The ecclesiastical traces can also be clearly distinguished by period. Of the former church, only the choir floor and part of a fresco from the second half of the 15th century have survived. The present-day church was built in the early years of the 20th century. Colmelloni adds an ancient hydraulic lock structure to this historical spectrum.

Cycle Paths in the Planning Stage

The Ciclopista del Brenta is included in regional and provincial planning for Limena. In addition, the provincial cycle path plan designates Itinerario F – Anello fluviale Padova – Brentella – Piovego as a cycle route for the Limena area.
