Lischiazze: Trails, Waterfall and Nature

Lischiazze appeals to travellers who want to combine their stay with trails through valley and woodland landscapes, a striking waterfall and unique nature experiences. The village offers various access points and routes: you can explore an old connecting path to the valley floor, continue from the village towards Sella Carnizza or choose the access route to the Rio Nero Valley and the Fontanone Barman. The experience is complemented by the Via Alberto Colavizza climbing route and the Sentiero del gusto.

Trails with Different Starting Points

The Itinerario Lischiazze – Torrente Barman – Gost is an old connecting path between the hamlet and the valley floor. It makes the connection between Lischiazze and the lower-lying landscape an experience in its own right. In the other direction, after passing through the hamlet of Gost, the Ta Stara Pot trail leads down to the hamlet of Lischiazze.

The Way of the Ancient Glaciers can also be linked with Lischiazze. From Gniva, the trail reaches the hamlet about 30 minutes after the start. In the opposite direction, it leads from Lischiazze to Sella Carnizza after approximately 4 km and 1.5 hours of walking. These details provide a specific framework for planning the respective section of the trail. Beyond Lischiazze, a car park also provides access to CAI Trail No. 703 towards the Rio Nero Valley and the Fontanone Barman.

Fontanone Barman and Rio Barman

The Fontanone Barman shapes the landscape with its drop: the water plunges approximately 70 m into a blue pool carved out of the rock. The route to the waterfall can be incorporated into your orientation in the area via the access point at the car park behind Lischiazze and CAI Trail No. 703. Climbing and Forest Products

The Via Alberto Colavizza adds a climbing route. It runs for almost 400 m on solid rock and mainly offers slab climbing. For travellers who would like to include climbing in their stay alongside hiking, it represents a separate element of the experience.

The Sentiero del gusto combines the landscape with regional culinary tradition. It introduces forest products such as mushrooms, fruit and wild herbs, which enrich traditional cuisine. The trail follows the municipal road towards Lischiazze and crosses tall beech forests. This makes it possible to combine an interest in woodland landscapes with an insight into the products that play a role in traditional cuisine.
