Discover Belluno Veronese
Accommodation in Belluno Veronese
Belluno Veronese combines trails through different elevations with churches of historical significance and a distinctive culinary dimension. If you would like to discover Veneto independently while combining nature, culture and regional cuisine, the town offers several clearly distinguishable points of reference. Orientation is particularly concrete along the various routes around the Sentiero del Pian di Festa.
Trails from Belluno Veronese in Various Directions
The Sentiero del Pian di Festa begins in Belluno Veronese at an elevation of 143 metres and reaches Pian di Festa at an elevation of 6 metres. Variant 5a leads via the Passo della Crocetta and Pian dei Biguli to Ferrara di Monte Baldo at an elevation of 849 metres. This variant therefore follows a different route from variant 5b: it leads via the Passo del Casello at an elevation of 1,055 metres to Novezzina at an elevation of 1,232 metres and onwards to the shelter of the same name near the Botanical Garden.
Further connections complement this network of trails. CAI Trail 76 connects Belluno Veronese with Ferrara di Monte Baldo, while CAI Trail 678 connects Belluno Veronese with the Passo del Cerbiolo. Sentiero 678 passes through the Val dei Fo and climbs diagonally through dense hornbeam and beech forest to the ridge descending from Monte Cerbiolo.
Natural Environment and Cultural Orientation
The Natura 2000 site “Fiume Adige tra Belluno Veronese e Verona Ovest”, identified as SIC IT3210043, is part of the area’s natural character. The churches of San Giovanni Battista and Sant’Andrea represent a cultural focus. The parish church of San Giovanni Battista is located at Via Roma 29, 37020 Belluno Veronese, Brentino Belluno, and dates from the 18th century.
The church of Sant’Andrea was built between the 11th and 12th centuries as a chapel subordinate to the parish church of Santa Maria in Caprino. Some 15th-century fresco decorations are still visible inside. At the same time, Sant’Andrea combines Romanesque origins and architectural forms, a Gothic interior with fresco decoration, and Baroque interior furnishings with lime plaster. Its architectural and furnishing history therefore offers a different approach to the local culture than the more recent San Giovanni Battista.
Wine and Historical Traces
A culinary addition is Roeno’s Wine Experience. It combines a tasting of the winery’s wines with traditional cuisine. In addition, evidence of a prehistoric settlement from an unspecified period was reported near Belluno at the Veronese Prehistoric Exhibition of 1876. This trace remains undated, but it forms part of the traditional historical classification of the surrounding area.
