Corbiolo is of interest to travelers who want to explore a place through its trails, landscape and deep-rooted local history.

Hiking trails with different routes

The 6.1 km-long hiking trail No. 8 starts in the center of Corbiolo, passes through Contrada Vurmi, Contrada Campi, Contrada Lechele and Contrada Selichi, as well as Località Talin and Colitele, and then returns to the center of Corbiolo. The green trail No. 9 leads from Corbiolo through Contrada Grobbe, Contrada Regno, Contrada Albare and Località Costa back to Corbiolo. This connects two trails with documented starting and return points in the village.

The 8.5 km-long red trail No. 10 also starts in the center of Corbiolo and leads through Contrada Costa, Contrada Italiani, Località Gianders, Monte della Croce and Contrada Thiene. Another route is CAI Route 252, Dorsale bassa della Lessinia: it reaches Corbiolo from Contrada Grobbe and then continues through the village to Baito della Chiusa, Valbo and Contrada Morandin.

Panoramic views from the Lessini to Lake Garda

From Corbiolo, the panoramic view extends north over Bosco Chiesanuova and the peaks of the Lessini as far as Monte Carega. To the south, the view stretches over Verona and the Po Valley to the Apennines; to the west, it reaches Lake Garda and the Monte Baldo mountain range. Thus, understanding the location involves not only its immediate surroundings but also the clearly defined line of sight across various landscapes.

Local history and religious heritage

The earliest documents mentioning Corbiolo date from the beginning of the 13th century. A document from 1219 provides evidence of inhabitants in the Corbiolo area even before the immigration of Bavarian-Tyrolean settlers, who are generally known as Cimbrians. The church of Corbiolo was built during the Second World War over a period of two years, from 1941 to 1943.

Among the visible cultural landmarks is a typical frescoed niche in Contrada Costa. It is dedicated to Saint Anthony the Great and is considered a symbol of local folk art. In 1999, a central mosaic was installed in the parish church of Corbiolo depicting the church in a boat.

A rectangular building erected in 1889, with a double-pitched stone roof, features the interior layout typical of the baiti of the contrade in the Lessinia, with the two rooms known as “logo del late” and “logo del fogo.” The building was restored by the Pro Loco, is open to visitors and contains old tools used for traditional milk processing.

Events and local cuisine

The documented events also add to the character of the village. During the 2024 summer theater series, the local ensembles “Corbiolo Teatro” and “Corbiolo Teatro Giovani,” along with other groups from the Province of Verona, performed at the “La Rondinella” cinema-theater. The Feast of Maria Ausiliatrice is traditionally celebrated in Corbiolo on a Sunday with a sagra; during the celebration, the statue of Maria Auxiliatrix is carried in procession through the streets of the village from the parish church.

A clearly dated example is the Festa degli Aquiloni held on August 11, 2019, at Dosso di Corbiolo. Visitors could build and fly kites; there were also inflatable games for children, free horseback rides, food stalls serving typical local dishes and live music in the evening. The culinary offerings also include Ristorante Veneranda in Villaggio Termine, serving typical local dishes, including dishes with black truffles from the Lessinia, gnocchi di malga and main courses made with Scottona beef raised in the Lessinia.
