Lauco: Gorges, Culture and Cross-Country Skiing

Lauco combines a varied landscape with distinctive buildings and traditional festivals. Part of the municipal area lies in the Parco Intercomunale delle Colline Carniche, whose landscape alternates between gentle hills, meadows and wooded areas. Gorges and trails around Lauco

One of the defining natural destinations is the Forra del Vinadia. It consists of three large gorges through which the Rio Chiantone, Rio Pichions and Rio Vinadia flow. The outer section begins directly below the village of Vinaio, located at an altitude of 807 m, in the municipality of Lauco. The plateau of Lauco, located at an altitude of 700 m, also offers a distinct focus. There are three cross-country ski trails there. Architecture, churches and traditions

Lauco's cultural heritage includes several buildings with clear historical connections. Palazzo Beorchia in Trava is an example of 18th-century Friulian-Carnic architecture and has arcades. The Chiesa Parrocchiale di Tutti i Santi in Lauco was built from the 18th century onward. Trava is also home to the Chiesa del Santo Nome di Maria, a 16th-century building.

Borgo Cavocjarie is considered Lauco's most typical hamlet. Casa di Elena Cimenti on Via Centrale is a reminder of the area's historic local architecture.
