The remains of 1,763 fallen soldiers are located there, including 298 unidentified Italians and 65 Austro-Hungarian soldiers. In Timau, the Cristo Re church also houses a 15-metre-high wooden crucifix. In Cleulis, paintings in the San Osvaldo church depict the departure of emigrants and the Carnic Portatrici.

Churches, Towers and Trails

In Santa Maria Cathedral in Paluzza, you can see frescoes by Giuseppe Furnio on the ribbed vault and in the lunettes. Another historic landmark is the Torre Moscarda, which dates back to 1200. The trail from Museis to Torre Moscarda begins at the Bosco di Museis farm in the Paluzza district of the same name. It follows a cycling and walking path with a gentle incline through the forest.

For the Freikofel route, the starting point after Timau is at the Kantonniera by the fourth hairpin section. The CAI trail 401a begins there. Those who wish to compare different ways of getting around will find both a historic trail section at Pal Piccolo and a forest path near Museis, as well as a clearly marked starting point at Freikofel. Each of the routes mentioned should be treated as a separate outing when planning your day.

Winter Orientation and Getting There
