San Martino Buon Albergo combines a multifaceted landscape with traces of history and various ways to discover the area. In the northern part are hilly landscapes located at the foothills of the Monti Lessini. The plain is crossed by numerous drainage channels and spring-fed watercourses. Thus, within the same municipality, both hilly landscapes and areas shaped by watercourses coexist.

Easy Routes through Nature and the Landscape

Several nature trails are suitable for short excursions. The Sentiero dei Fossi is 2.2 kilometres long, described as an easy route, and has an estimated duration of 30 minutes. The Bosco della Fratta is also an easy route with an estimated duration of 30 minutes, but is 2.5 kilometres long. The difference in length can be understood in this way, without turning the two routes into a single unified route. The nature trails feature information boards and sensory paths. They are easy and vary in length; they are also suitable for families and have designated parking facilities. The Bosco della Fratta educational trail provides information boards about botanical and faunal species found in the surrounding area. The Bosco della Fratta itself is a biotope with a mixed forest of native oaks, beech trees and maples.

Historic Sites in the Townscape

The history of the area is closely linked to the ancient Roman Via Postumia. San Martino Buon Albergo developed along this road at its stone bridge over the Fibbio. In the town centre stands the parish church of San Martino Vescovo di Tours. It forms one of the scenic boundaries of the main square and is therefore part of the central townscape. Villa Ferruzzi, now the town hall, had been the Ferruzzi family's patrician residence since the second half of the 18th century. The building is a simple neoclassical palazzo. Another historical focal point is the red hiking trail. It includes the 16th-century Corte Palù del Fenilon, a monumental rural settlement with a large portal for storing hay. The Villa Girasole, built between 1929 and 1935, is also part of the red hiking trail; it is a Rationalist rotating house.

Cycling and Local Specialties

For another way to discover the area, the AIDA Est Veronese cycle path begins in San Martino Buon Albergo. In this section, it runs along the Adige River. Another cycling tour also begins in San Martino Buon Albergo and heads towards the hamlet of Marcellise through green hills lined with cypress trees, vineyards and historic villas. The local character also includes the San Martino Vescovo patron saint's festival, which takes place in November and was celebrated in 2023 and 2025. At the patron saint's festival, Capel de Napoleon is served, a fresh pasta raviolo filled with asparagus and pancetta. For further destination options, you can consider Lugagnano, Caprino Veronese, Ronco All'adige, Bernardine, Nogarole Rocca, Gazzo Veronese, Dossobuono and Costermano.
