Mogliano Veneto is a destination for you if you would like to combine your stay with villas, historic traces, art and a connection towards Venice. The Terraglio is the road between Treviso and Venice on which Mogliano Veneto is reached. This provides different facets for orientation on site: parks and villas, sacred art, a festival celebrating the new wine, as well as a new combined cycle and pedestrian route.

Villas, Parks and Art

A special cultural site is the Museo Toni Benetton in Marocco di Mogliano Veneto in the Province of Treviso. It is located in the former cellars of Villa Marignana and displays some masterpieces by the 20th-century sculptor Toni Benetton. Iron was his preferred means of expression. The site thus combines the history of a villa with the sculptor’s distinctive formal language and places a clear emphasis on art.

The parks surrounding the villas also shape the range of impressions. Villa Condulmer has a romantically designed park with paths, bridges, numerous tree species and a small lake. An English garden and a small wood were created in Parco di Villa Longobardi at the beginning of the 19th century. The two grounds represent different garden designs: here, paths, bridges and water determine the layout, while there, an English garden and woodland prevail.

Villa Condulmer is also associated with a specific historical stay: Giuseppe Verdi stayed there in 1853. Villa Stucky, in turn, was the headquarters of the Third Army in 1917. Its architecture is characterised by Central European lines, which differ clearly from the simple and austere lines of Venetian villas. This contrast in particular makes Villa Stucky an independent architectural point of reference.

Church Art and a Festival in November

The Duomo arcipretale di Santa Maria Assunta in Mogliano Veneto is the focal point of the religious architecture. Its floor plan has the shape of a Latin cross, and the cathedral also has three naves. The entrance to the presbytery is flanked by frescoes by Sebastiano Santi depicting the Annunciation. Architecture and furnishings can therefore be considered together here without conflating their individual features.

A seasonal highlight is the Festa di San Martino, held in November to celebrate the new wine. The festival includes traditional food and live music. If you visit Mogliano Veneto at this time, the local calendar therefore offers an event with a culinary and musical focus in addition to the villas and churches.

Along the Terraglio and Towards Venice Without a Car

In addition to the Terraglio, there is a new combined cycle and pedestrian route to Venice. It allows residents and tourists to reach Venice from Mogliano Veneto safely and without a car. This is a clearly described option for anyone who does not want to make the journey exclusively by car. The route thus complements the road orientation provided by the Terraglio with a dedicated option for cyclists and pedestrians.
