Salgareda can be discovered through specific trails, landscapes and cultural connections. The focus is on the Piave with its cycling and walking paths, the town’s architectural heritage, its connection to Goffredo Parise, and an annual event featuring wine tastings. This allows you to plan your stay around different interests and explore the town’s distinctive features with a clear focus.

Exploring the Piave

From Ponte di Piave, the cycle path along the Piave can be accessed via Via Gonfo, near the “Casa Parise” area. Its route passes through the Oasi di Chiesavecchia and along the river through a wooded area with an abundant variety of native plants. The landscape is therefore not only a route connection but also an experience in its own right: the river, the wooded area and the Oasi di Chiesavecchia are clearly identifiable stops along this route.

Cycling and walking paths with different sections

The Bike Tribe Mtb Trail is a cycling and walking path and is considered a route for hikers. For orientation, a particular section near the “Casa delle Fate” is highlighted: this is where a signposted gravel section begins, leading to access to the Gonfo river forest. Motor vehicles are prohibited in this area. This clearly distinguishes this part of the trail from an ordinary road connection and links the references to the Casa delle Fate with the Gonfo river forest.

Another way to consider the landscape and local cultural connections together is offered by the Itinerario Gira Piave. It includes the Oasi di Chiesa Vecchia and places connected with Goffredo Parise. The two names Chiesavecchia and Chiesa Vecchia remain associated with their respective trails and routes.

Culture between the Piave and gravel areas

Salgareda’s architectural heritage includes the Oratorio Madonna della Salute di Villa Rebecca, which was built in 1900. The Casa di Goffredo Parise, also known as the “Casa delle Fate”, offers a different perspective. It is a small building on the Piave River amid the gravel landscape. Goffredo Parise lived in the Casa di Goffredo Parise for thirteen years, from 1970 to 1983. The place thus connects a specific historical figure with a building and a riverside landscape, without implying any particular present-day use of the house.

Annual connection to wine

The Sagra di Salgareda takes place every year. Its food and wine area offers wine tastings from local wineries. This event complements the trails and cultural sites with an explicitly regional connection to wine production. When considering Salgareda for your travel plans, you therefore have both scenic routes and historical and culinary points of interest to choose from.
