Historic Places and Sacred Paths
In Borgo Centa, some houses are partly medieval in origin. The settlement developed around the Church of Santi Pietro e Paolo, whose origins date back to the 13th century. Downhill, the natural terrain protects the village, while uphill it is protected by a large stone wall. Another historic landmark is Castello di Albana. It was built to defend the Judrio Valley and was first mentioned in 1161 as “in villa qui dicitur Albana”. Its tasting room can accommodate 15 people; the stated opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. La Viarte welcomes wine lovers and wine tourists in a tasting room by prior appointment.
